Kasturirangan Committee to submit draft New Education Policy

The K. Kasturirangan Committee shaped to set up the draft on the National Education Policy (NEP) will present its report before the current month's over. This Committee has held discussions with different partners and cross-segments of the general public and is in the last phase of defining the draft approach.

In June a year ago, the eight-part K Kasturirangan Committee, headed by the previous ISRO boss was alloted the errand of drafting the NEP. The draft arrangement was to be presented by December 2017, which was later stretched out till June 2018. The Committee got a third augmentation till August 31 and has arranged the Policy draft which will be submitted to the Government before the finish of August.

According to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), in perspective of the voluminous quantum of proposals that this advisory group needed to analyze in the activity of figuring a draft approach, it has taken a more extended time than at first anticipated. Additionally, the procedural customs engaged with the formal accommodation of the Final draft Policy has been tedious and henceforth the expansion of time has been conceded.

Pastor of State for HRD Dr. Satya Pal Singh, talking in the Lok Sabha stated, "The Government is detailing a New Education Policy for meeting the changing progression of the populace's prerequisite as to quality instruction, development and research, meaning to make India an information superpower by furnishing its understudies with the fundamental abilities and learning. Preceding the Kasturirangan Committee, MHRD had shaped a Committee for the advancement of the NEP which presented its report in May 2016, and from that point, the Ministry arranged 'A few Inputs for the Draft National Education Policy, 2016'.
